Our location in Houston—the most diverse city in the U.S. and an energy and healthcare capital—and Texas—a gateway for immigration and an influential state in U.S. politics—allows us a front-row seat to important global problems to inspire solution-focused research. We will continue to build expertise to address the critical issues of climate change, energy, healthcare, immigration, race and racism, and the protection and enhancement of democracy. Our research will seek to understand and address persistent inequities and disparities.
