Prioritize Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

As social scientists, our goal is to understand the world, and doing so requires that we incorporate scholars with diverse lived experiences. We will recruit and retain faculty and students from diverse backgrounds, support them in their growth, and include them in decision-making. We will incorporate diverse perspectives in our teaching and research.

  • Significantly increase our proportion of faculty from underrepresented groups
  • Increase the diversity of our graduate student body, with special attention to underrepresented groups
  • Provide courses that relate to the lived experiences of diverse groups
  • Work actively to promote anti-racism and cultural inclusion among faculty and students
  • Provide leadership opportunities for women and members of underrepresented groups
